The line-up for Bulmers Live at Leopardstown 2016 was completed today with the announcement of two more acts to play at Leopardstown Racecourse this summer. The Academic, probably the fastest rising young bands in Ireland, are confirmed to play Leopardstown on Thursday June 16 while one of this country’s best live bands, Hermitage Green, are announced for Thursday July 14. 

The two bands complete a fantastic line-up for Bulmers Live at Leopardstown 2016, that will also see Aslan (June 9), Nathan Carter (June 23), Jack L (July 7), (Booka Brass Band (July 21), The Strypes (August 4), The Boomtown Rats (August 11) all play to huge crowds at the Racecourse Stage on Thursday nights over the summer.

The Academic are one of the most exciting new bands around right now and tipped for major international success. Their hit debut single, ‘Different’ was recently nominated for the Choice Music Prize Best Song and with the follow up release of their debut EP Loose Friends, the band have been tearing up venues across Ireland, UK and Europe while already supporting indie legends such as the Pixies.

Hermitage Green, meanwhile, released their debut studio album Save Your Soul in March 2016. After shooting to Number 3 in the Irish Album Charts, the band delivered on their great songwriting potential having wowed audiences around the world since they formed in 2010. Their unique arrangement of instruments that includes the bodhrán, djembe, rhythmic guitar and banjo sets them apart as a truly original offering of Irish music

As always, the performances will be preceded by a top class card of horse racing and a wide selection of hospitality options available for everyone from the great value ‘Summer Bundle’  to the premium ‘Summer Party’. The music and racing festival would not be complete without the style stakes and The Beacon Hotel will return this summer as sponsors of The Beacon Hotel Dare to be Different Style Awards with over €17,000 worth of prizes to be won.
