Alejandro González Iñárritu working on Virtual Reality short

Although it has been the source of much controversy over the years, leading to this years Brexit and the red hot debate of the US Presidential race, the BAFTA and Academy Award winning director Alejandro González Iñárritu is approaching the topic of immigration in a new light.

With the backing of Legendary Entertainment alongside Fondazione Prada, Iñárritu has started work on a virtual reality short which will harness Industrial Light & Magic’s new ILMxLAB studio, which is already working on several VR projects, to portray the difficulties faced by immigrants as they attempt to cross the border from Mexico into the United States.

Very little is actually known about the project other than it has been in development for four years and is set to explore the intense and intrusive experiences immigrants face on a daily basis.

Acclaimed cinematographer and regular Iñárritu collaborator Emmanuel Lubezki will be working alongside the director, with no release date currently penned in as of writing.
