The vinyl renaissance looks set to continue in 2015, so far this year Noel Gallagher, David Bowie, Royal Blood and Blur are all in the top 10 of vinyl sales.

2014′s renewed interest in vinyl, saw UK sales of vinyl albums surpass one million, the first time this has been achieved in eighteen years. The upward trend has been relentless over the past few years, leaving even the biggest lovers of vinyl in disbelief at the revival of the format.

Last year in North America, vinyl revivalist Jack White was the biggest seller. His album Lazaretto, was a massive success, shifting 75,700 copies. The Wall Street Journal reports that White’s record was the biggest selling vinyl album since Pearl Jam’s Vitalogy in 1994.

This year, the Britpop artists Noel Gallagher and Blur, have fared very well. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds released Chasing Yesterday in March, and so far this year it is the top selling vinyl album. Blur are at number 4, with their first album in twelve years, The Magic Whip.

As for classic rock, Led Zeppelin not only made it in the top 10, they were on the list twice. Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti and Four Symbols, made it to number 2 and 8.

And Don’t forget about the modern rock acts. Arctic Monkeys’ AM was named the top selling vinyl album of the decade last year and the Sheffield band are still at number 6 on the list. While rock duo Royal Blood, made it to number 5, with their self titled debut album.

Here’s a chart via Statista that shows how vinyl sales have skyrocketed in the States in the past few years.
