Chris Haze: I’ll Run single review

Chris Haze

Irish composer Chris Haze has come a long way since kicking his career into high gear with the release of his Thoughts to Words EP last year. Following the success of his single “Let Us Be Heroes” at the start of 2016, the Galway based musician went on to infiltrate the airwaves in the UK for first time on Radio X before signing a deal with RMR Publishing and being named as Global Rockstar’s European “Artist of the Month” in April.

Now he’s back with a brand new track entitled “I’ll Run”, which has already charged into the top ten on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts.

It begins with a bright beat that establishes an airy atmosphere ahead of the remarkably resonant refrain of the verse. The rhythm remains relaxing from here as pleasant percussion proceeds to pace placidly underneath upbeat riffs and optimistic singing on the way to a light but enlivening chorus towards the end of the opening minute. This is succeeded by a soft second stanza that showcases vibrant vocals atop tender instrumentation. It all washes warmly in the direction of a laid-back breakdown in the middle, which eventually evolves into a cordial climax.

Haze has forged another enthralling fusion of folk, pop, rock and R ‘N’ B that offers up plenty for fans of all the above genres to enjoy. Its smooth, melodic delivery and cheery, radio-friendly demeanour are indicative of an artist who has what it takes to achieve mainstream triumph. “I’ll Run” is available for download from iTunes now.
