Christy Moore has finally relented and let the cameras in, the documentary “Journey” is about the Irish folk singer-songwriter’s life and music career of over 50 years.

Christy Moore: Journey, filmed by Mark McLoughlin and described as a powerful and very personal film, was shot over a 5 month period on the road.

Over the years Christy has sung about issues that have deeply affected him and the film will see him bring these songs to the locations that inspired them and show us the viewers the history behind the songs.

The documentary film “Journey” will be screened over 2 nights on RTE 1. Part One this coming Sunday April 10 at 9.30 pm and Part Two on Monday April 11 at 9.30 pm.

“It was betimes an emotional journey but we got to share many happy moments too.”

Also this month, Christy will begin a series of Irish dates, staring on April 13 and 14 in Vicar Street, Dublin with more Vicar Street dates on April 28 and 29.

He will then play the Bord Gais Energy Theatre on May 6 and 7, Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe Co. Galway on July 8th and in September he will be joined on the road by Declan Sinnot and Jim Higgins at the Millenium Forum on September 2 and 3.

He will also play City Hotel Armagh on September 14, Slieve Donard Resort Newcastle on September 15 and the Waterfront Hall on September 17 and 18.
