With the Star Wars franchise being the hot topic of discussion, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Ewan McGregor is once again dropping hints of his eagerness to star as Obi-Wan Kenobi once again. It’s no secret that both fans and McGregor himself are watering at the mouth for a potential Obi-Wan spin-off series.

If it were to happen, and the keyword there is IF, don’t expect it to receive a similar treatment as the announced Han Solo spin-off, which follows a young Han. Instead, a possible Obi-Wan standalone feature would more than likely follow the events from the end of Revenge of the Sith up to his training of Luke Skywalker in A New Hope.

In an interview with French website French Premiere, McGregor said; “I’ve always thought there was a story to tell between my last one and Alec Guinness’ first one. It would be fun to film that story now that I’m older. I’d be the right age. I’m 45; Alec Guinness was what, 60? I could do two of them!”

Until anything is confirmed, Star Wars fans may satisfy their hunger for news in the latest snippet of information on the upcoming Rogue One with the release of the official movie poster, featuring a familiar face Obi-Wan himself may recognise.
