Although teaser trailers are becoming increasingly more commonplace in the lead up to the release of major blockbusters, the team behind Ghost In The Shell are taking a slightly different approach. Instead, five separate snippets have been released (see below) and may possibly be taken from a teaser trailer. However, they are very much keeping their cards close to their chest (for now) as very little is actually revealed.

Based on the manga by Masamune Shirow, Johansson plays The Major, a cyborg officer who heads an elite force of special ops known as Section 9. Under the employment of Hanka Robotics, Section 9 is charged with capturing notorious criminals and terrorists, with their prime target being the infamous Laughing Man, who has sworn to wipe out Hanka Robotics and all attached to the firm.

Danish actor Pilou Asbæk will portray renowned fighter Batou, with Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt, Kaori Momoi and Takeshi Kitano also making an appearance. The rest of Section 9 will feature Chin Han, Yutaka Izumihara, Danusia Samal, Tuwanda Manyimo and Lasarus Ratuere. The movie has already attracted unwanted criticism for casting mainly Western actors in the lead role.

Audiences will be able to catch Ghost In The Shell next year when it hits cinema screens nationwide on March 31.
