With anticipation at boiling point for what will be the eighth instalment of the Harry Potter series, we have finally received our first glimpse of the upcoming West End theatrical production of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. The Pottermore website premiered our first look at both Potter and Weasley families.

Set 19 years after the events of The Deathly Hollows, both the Potters and Weasley clans have seemingly settled into a relaxed family life. However, their idyllic lives are soon interrupted as young Albus Severus Potter (Sam Clemmett) heads off to Hogwarts and with the weight of expectation heavy on his shoulders, he soon has to deal with the ramifications of his parents legacy.

The story has been penned by J.K. Rowling with Jack Thorne taking on scriptwriting duties and John Tiffany as the productions director, previews for The Cursed Child commence on June 7 with a scheduled official opening jotted down for July 30.
