Flaggs are about to drop their second EP Take A Ride. This follows the San Diego rockers debut EP Beach In Her Hair

The EP will be available June 19th on iTunes for digital distribution. Listeners can still expect to hear influences from 60’s motown, 70’s punk & 90’s rock with that same salty FLAGGS touch. Tracks “Take a Ride” and “Young Love” touch on the 60’s music scene while “Cheap Life” tests the waters of early punk. “Demon in His Way” slaps back at songs portraying women as the devil, and reverses it with portraying the man as a shady sexter.

Flaggs has a sound that can best be compared to artists such as The Pixies, Weezer and Best Coast.  Noted as “the best new artist nominee” by The San Diego Music Awards, and reminiscent of The Kinks, T Rex and Phil Spector groups by The San Diego CityBeat. Flaggs has become a sought after band and tours the West Coast circuit, venues and music festivals year-round. Flaggs regularly plays venues such as The Casbah, Soda Bar, The Redwood Bar (LA) and have played festivals such as Adams Ave St Fair and The Reader On Tap Festival. Founder-Singer-Songwriter-Guitarist Lindsay Matheson has toured with acts such as The Killers, Weezer and Brandon Flowers.

Fans will be able to purchase physical EP’s at Flaggs EP Release at The Casbah, May 20th. Doors open at 9pm with sets from The Two Tens (LA), Soft Lions and Gloomsday in the Atari Lounge. The first 10 people through the door will receive gift bags with FLAGGS new EP and other goods from the associated bands. $5 gets you through the door.

In addition to the new EP, Flaggs will be releasing a new music video in the next month for “Take a Ride,” directed by Chris Maroulakos from Owl & Bear. The video will play to a series of after school specials themed for each song on the new EP.

Flaggs will also be performing their EP Release show at The Moustache Bar in Mexico, May 23, and The Silverlake Lounge in Los Angeles, June 12.
