Mitchelstown musicians MINDRIOTmt. have been making waves on the Irish music scene for quite some time now, mesmerising the masses on stage at the likes of Fireside Festival and Indiependence while racking up acclaim from a whole host of high profile national media outlets, including Hot Press, The Irish Times and Today FM.
Having capped off 2016 by topping the iTunes rock chart with an enthralling tune entitled “Speak”, which was released as a charity single in support of Pieta House, members Mike Hoye, Tony Gorry and Steve Bartak proceeded to spend the first six months of 2017 touring the length and breadth of their homeland.
Now, the talented trio are preparing to put out a brand new tune named “I See the Light” on July 28th. Starting with a sombre first verse, it quickly builds into an incredibly powerful chorus that’s packed with passion and poignancy. A salvo of stirring guitars bridges the gap from here to another entrancingly tender stanza before the music and melody veer back in a more vigorous direction towards the end of the affecting second minute.
The whole thing transitions into an invigorating instrumental exhibition around the midway mark, after which a brilliantly boisterous climactic refrain takes over to escort the proceedings to a superbly forceful conclusion. The result is a remarkably intense and riveting rock ballad that’s full of feeling and fervour.
Be sure to keep an eye out for “I See the Light” when it drops for download in the coming weeks. You can also catch it live next month when the guys return to Indiependence to perform on August 5th. All of the details can be found via their Facebook tour page now.
