Unless you’ve been living under a rock for quite some time, you will be aware of the cult following Netflix original series Stranger Things has managed to garner. So it shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise that Netflix have been quick to announce a second series in which we return to the Upside Down.

The below trailer doesn’t give that much away, apart from the title of each episode, but viewers can expect to revisit Hawkins, Indiana and creators Ross and Matt Duffer have confirmed the second series of Stranger Things will immediately continue on where the first one left viewers unsure of what demons the boys may have yet to confront.

The trailer also reveals that the second series takes place in the fall of 1984, whereas the first series began in November 1983. The Duffer duo have also promised to further expand the backstory of the mysterious Department of Energy, The Upside Down and Demogorgan, revealing that we may have only scratched the service of the sinister beings that lurk around Hawkins.

Expect the second series of Stranger Things to hit our screens some time in 2017.
