This summer saw the release of her first solo album in ten years since Red Colour Sun with Gossamer, reminding fans why Lumiere member Pauline Scanlon is a force within Irish music. Creating a bridge between the traditional while also acknowledging shifts in contemporary music, Scanlon has her finger on the pulse of the Irish music scene. She brings her beguiling sound to The White Horse, Ballincollig, Spetember 8th.
Gossamer, produced with long time collaborator John Reynolds, continues the folk tradition themes of love and loss and illuminates Scanlons resonance of strength through fragility. Scanlon has embraced both accoustic and electronic genres which ensures that Gossamer fits comfortably in the current Irish market.
Born in Dingle Scanlon has performed with Sharron Shannon, Belinda Carlisle, Donough Hennessy, Darrell Scott, Kenny Malone, Stuart Duncan and Kyle Carey. She was a founding member of Lumiere with Éilís Kenned.
