Well here’s some news out of nowhere. Scarlett Johansson, Este Haim, Holly Miranda, Kendra Morris and Julia Haltigan have formed an all girl “super group” called The Singles.

Scarlett Johansson spoke to Rolling Stone about the new group. “The idea was to write super-pop dance music written and performed by girls,” says Johansson, citing the influence of Grimes, the Bangles and the Go-Go’s. “I wanted it to be like those bands: ultra-pop but also a little ironic, a little in on the joke.”

Singles have released their first track titled “Candy” which you can check out below. The track is a 3 minute, glamorous electro pop song.  “Candy” was produced by TV On The Radio’s David Sitek who has previously worked with Johansson.
