Seasick Steve has released a video for his upcoming single “Roy’s Gang”, off his top 5 album Sonic Soul Surfer.

“With his sold-out UK tour in full swing, and summer festival dates on the horizon, Seasick Steve announces the release of new single ‘Roy’s Gang’, out May 25th on Caroline International.

The second single to be taken from his new top 5 album Sonic Soul Surfer, “Roy’s Gang” is a grooving, energetic, foot stomping track, featuring the rasping sound of a one-string washboard – the latest addition to his armoury of homemade instruments. The brilliant video sees Steve, and drummer Dan Magnusson, in puppet form for a no-holds-barred performance (courtesy of master puppeteer Ricky Syers).

Since appearing on Jools Holland’s Hootenanny New Year’s Eve 2006, Seasick Steve’s career both on record and onstage has gone from strength to strength. In the process he has established himself as one of the best live acts in music today.”

Produced and written by Seasick Steve and recorded in his front room at the little farm where he lives, ‘Sonic Soul Surfer’ is his seventh studio record and most ambitious work yet. Along with longtime drummer Dan Magnusson, the album also features Luther Dickinson (Mississippi All Stars) playing slide guitar on two tracks, Georgina Leach on fiddle and Ben Miller playing jaw harp on ‘Summertime Boy’.

Seasick Steve plays Ireland June 20 at the Sea Sessions and June 24 at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham with support from Counting Crows.
