Irish festival legends King Kong Company and recent Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists, Lords of Strut, have been added to a growing line-up at this summer’s Townlands Carnival, taking place at Rusheen Farm Estate in Marcroom, Co Cork on July 21 -23. They join some amazing live acts already announced for the festival, including Hermitage Green, Brushy 1 Sting and Jeru The Damaga.

After tearing down the tent at Glastonbury 2017 King Kong Company bring to Townlands Carnival some inimitable “21st century swagger” (Irish Times), and who were recently crowned the Best Irish Live Act 2016 (Pure M Awards).

Meanwhile, Cork’s favourite spandex-wearing duo are on a mission to change the world with dance. Lords of Strut make an exhilarating addition to a diverse and highly charged line-up in the Village Hall. Also on the bill, Cork Loves Music promises an impressive panel of speakers to talk music and the ever-changing industry.

Townlands Carnival are also excited to reveal that Stevie G and Andrea Williams Dancers are bound for this year’s Main Stage, promising an exciting live show played out to Hip Hop, Dancehall, Jazz and RnB beats. Set amongst the ancient trees of Rusheen farm in an old tin barn is Townlands Carnival’s best kept secret, The Sibin; showcasing an eclectic line-up of live music acts from the hauntingly beautiful to the stompingly danceable.

Hosted by Worries Outernational and featuring Cian Finn, Solo Banton, Wynton Kelly Stevenson and Flipside Selekta the Riddin Shack with its Jamaican Reggae Dub Dancehall style is sure to prove popular at TLC.

SubAtomic boasts some of the most innovative acts from the worlds of Grime, Baseline, Dubstep and Techno including OM Unit, Wriggle, Meadbh O Connor, Clu, Shreiken, Jamie Behan and Warren Knowles.

Goat Shed returns and this time the goats have company! From the depths of the underground, creatures from Ireland’s wilderness have joined us for one animal rave. Come join these raving beasts, stamp your hooves and shake your tails to the wild rhythms and banging tunes at the Goat Shed with sets from P-Hocto and Gary Fitz and takeovers from Humans of the Sesh. Release your inner creature and rave with the best and weirdest of them!

Grown ups and kids are invited to dance to the rhythm with Dead Cool Songs silent disco or embrace their inner Sherlock Holmes for the Digital Scavenger Hunt. Alternatively, film buffs and music lovers alike can relax and join CineCeoil for a programme of films that document Ireland, her landscapes and musicians. Ronan Leonard brings festival favourite Ringo: Music Bingo testing your music knowledge whilst tickling your funny bone.

Theatrical walkabouts roam the Townlands breathing new life into the meaning of Freakshow Carnival & Circus Cabaret. This is where YOU come in! Embracing the Carnival TLC invites festival goers to create costumes using recycled and upcycled materials to join in with this years theme of ‘Carnival Through the Ages’. Taking inspiration from different eras from Rio Carnival to Medieval and Trad Circus to Freakshow and if it’s not yet complete come to the Costume Blinging Station to add the finishing touches or join in on one of our workshops.The TLC tradition of parading through the festival on the Sunday evening is back by popular demand with prizes for best costume and fire eaters and performers to enthrall.
