A SNEAK PEEK, BEHIND THE SCENES OF TOWNLANDS CARNIVAL
With less than 24 hours until gates open, TOWNLANDS CARNIVAL is adding the final touches to what is set to be a spectacle of Music, Arts and performance and offered us a glimpse into the action ahead of throwing the gates open to thousands of revelers this weekend.
Ireland’s summer calendar is filled with many festivals to explore but none before have ventured where the team behind Townlands Carnival have.
It’s a new ground, where creation far exceeds expectation. Far more than simply erecting a stage in the fields on the outskirts of Macroom, the organisers have raised the bar and created their own Townlands within.
“We can only offer a ‘sneak peek’ and we must leave the element of surprise but be certain you haven’t seen a festival site like this in Ireland yet.”
Building on 2015’s success, Director, Feidhlim Bryan speaks of the inspiration behind the ambitious concept.
“The festival was conceived out of a desire to bring the best of what we have seen internationally to Ireland, the greatest are built with the purity of intention to create the best you possibly can and we believe people connect and respond to that”
With a line -up of 100+ International and homegrown acts including headliners BLACKALICIOUS,JERRY FISH, NATTY & GENTLEMANS DUB CLUB, the festival has been hugely successful in attracting such established artists in what will be only its second year!
Among its seven themed arenas, the family friendly festival caters for the whole clan with a weekend long jam packed programme of activities for the younger festival goer and kids under 12 go free!
The festival is easily accessible by Car and public transport with official festival shuttle buses from Cork City and Macroom.
