Norwegian artist Matoma has certainly done big things in a short amount of time. He’s equally adept at creating life-affirming originals as he is with cross-genres collabs with the likes of Jason Derulo, Jennifer Lopez and The Vamps – not to mention dazzling remixes for artists including Coldplay, One Direction and Eminem. Matoma announced today he will be playing a live show at The Academy, Dublin on Sunday January 14th as part of his ‘One In A Million Tour’.
In the past few years since I have been making music I have been so lucky to have travelled the world, worked with some incredible artists and met you guys my amazing followers, supporters and fans. For me this is a #oneinamillion opportunity and I say it every day – without you guys there would be no Matoma. Every single person in the crowd is special, we all have hearts, soul, passion and dreams. That is what this album is about. I have worked on this for so long and I'm beyond excited to finally start sharing it with you. I wanted to share the album with my fans first, playing all the new music at shows on this tour and then releasing it on the day of my last show in Trondheim, in the same venue where I played my first ever DJ set and the city I have lived in the last 6 years. I'm putting my heart into this, all the new music, a whole new live production, some amazing new support artists. I’m bringing you something I feel is special and represent me and my musical vision in a different and exciting form than before. The Hakuna Matoma campaign has been amazing filled with memories, joy, happiness and experience, but now it’s time to kick it up a few notch and take it to the next level. You guys deserve it more than anyone! Best and all my love, Tom'One In A Million' Tour 2018 – On-sale Friday 17th November – www.hakunamatoma.com

The result is that Matoma is huge at Spotify: 161 million streams of ‘Old Thing Back’; 118 million plays of ‘Running Out’; and another 113 million for ‘All Night’, his recent collaboration with The Vamps.
All three tracks feature on ‘Hakuna Matoma’, his pioneering reinvention of the album concept. Blurring the boundaries between the playlist and the artist album, ‘Hakuna Matoma’ continues to evolve with the addition of brand new tracks across all key streaming platforms.
Having performed at major festivals including Bonnaroo, Electric Zoo, Lollapalooza, Tomorrowland, and Coachella, Matoma’s ‘Party At Your Place’ world tour is now underway.
Joining Matoma in The Academy Dublin on Sunday January 14th are one part vocals, one part machines – NAATIONS consists of just that. A strong nod to an island grit and verses that delve into the human condition, sitting atop danceable rhythms and catchy hooks. A project spanning sounds as much as continents,NAATIONS shake up a sparkling cocktail of styles, melding melody with bass bin shaking bottom end. Nicky Night Time (Van She) & Nat Dunn’s musical chemistry was apparent from their first meeting and continued into a mutual muse relationship that is now NAATIONS.
‘Kingdom’ is the duo’s first missive, a powerful statement of intent that outlines the duo’s realm. With a finely tuned swagger reminiscent of an M.I.A., Elliphant, Rihanna or Rudimental track, Dunn riffs on reality and ambition, promising to move the empire. ‘Alive’ followed close behind which has attracted more than 900k streams on Spotify and Apple Music and fully opened the Naations / radio support account with plays from the likes of BBC Radio1’s MistaJam, Pete Tong and Danny Howard making the track his ‘Future Anthem’. The Summer Anthem 2017 ‘Real Life’ impacted the charts majorly, gaining more than 2 million views on youtube and is also sitting in the UK Top 100 for more than 3 months. The collaboration with Duke Dumont & Gorgon City was a most played record at BBC Radio1 in August and stayed on the A List for over 4 weeks. Naation’s 3rd solo single Want Me More hit the UK radio station immensely as well as being Pete Tong’s most popular track of the show.
Off the back of the band’s success with ‘Real Life’, Naations went on to release their highly anticipated single ‘Want Me More’. ‘Want me more’ has gone on to be played by the likes of Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Andi Durrant and more. It was the most popular song of the Danny Howard show on Radio 1 Dance Anthems.
